Diamond Jubilee Competition Winner Is Announced

In June, to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee, ALTRAD Belle ran a competition in which the winner would receive a Limited Edition Red, White & Blue Minimix 150 Cement Mixer.

To enter the competition, people had to log onto our website and answer 2 questions which combined the themes of the Diamond Jubilee and ALTRAD Belle.

The lucky winner who was chosen at random was Rob Manley from North Wales who entered the competition on behalf of his employers, Thorncliffe Building Supplies.

Thorncliffe has been supplying building supplies in North Wales since the company was founded in 1990 when owner Tim Harper acquired a small section of land at Allt~y~Graig, Dyserth, which is now the site of the company’s Head Office. The company expanded quickly and soon made a major impact on the local building trade by offering a wide range of products at competitive prices whilst offering a reliable and friendly service to all customers.

Thorncliffe was always endeavouring to offer more to its customers so it quickly developed a 'one stop shop' strategy. The company now includes a Builders Merchants, Plant Hire Shop, Skip Hire, Waste Transfer Station and a Waste Recycling Station over 3 sites in the North Wales area (Dyserth, Abergele & Ewloe)

Unfortunately, competition winner Rob couldn’t be present on the day the Cement Mixer was handed over to Thorncliffe Building Supplies so owner Tim Harper accepted the mixer on behalf of the company.

The father of owner Tim Harper originally hails from Tunstall, North Staffordshire and by coincidence it turns out that Thorncliffe Building Supplies was named after the small village of Thorncliffe which is situated just a couple of miles away from the ALTRAD Belle Head Office at Sheen. Tim’s dad used to pass through Thorncliffe when he travelled to visit his uncle’s farm at the nearby village of Onecote.

Whilst accepting the prize, Tim stated that they intended to add the Cement Mixer to their hire fleet and then whatever money they made from hiring out the Cement Mixer would then be generously given to a local charity.

We’ll hopefully be able to keep you updated with the progress of how much money is raised for charity.
